| The Karolinska Stroke Award is a prize that is
awarded every two years for Excellence in Stroke Research. The prize amounts to 100,000 Swedish Kronor and can be divided between laureates.
In 2004 the Karolinska Stroke Laureates were Professor Werner Hacke, Heidelberg and Professor Charles Warlow, Edinburgh.
The laureates received the prize from the Chairman of the Board of Karolinska Institutet, Berit Löfqvist.
In 2006
the Karolinska Stroke Laureates were Professor Michael Hennerici, Mannheim and Professor Markku Kaste, Helsinki
The laureates received the prize from the Chairman of the Board of Karolinska Institutet, Susanne Eberstein.
In 2008 the Karolinska Stroke Laureate was professor Henry Barnett, London, Ontario
The laureate received the prize from the President of Karolinska Institutet, Harriet Wallberg-Henriksson
In 2010 the Karolinska Stroke Laureate was professor Takenori Yamaguchi, Osaka
The laureate received the prize from the Chairman of the Board of Karolinska Institutet, Susanne Eberstein.
